Attune With Movement, Breath, and Hydration Rituals

My morning routine commences with a surrender to the compelling call of that strong, still voice guiding me home to my authentic self by way of movement. It unravels the veils of mental clutter, innately meeting my body in its deepest capacities of movement. I slow it down with breath, using my breath to reset my mind, getting out of my head and into my heart.

I inhale deeply over and over, releasing the burdens of yesterday, aligning with the energy of my dreams, and savoring the anticipation of the day. This is followed up with a steaming pot of water, squeezing in some lemons and 1/4 of a teaspoon of Celtic salt. This is more than hydration; it is the gift of replenishment.

I get sweaty, safely push my body to a space of mental unveiling, get grounded in my authentic self, and give the gift of replenishment to my body. These actions are not just steps; they are my rituals, my connection to the most innate aspects of my nature. With each movement, each breath, I become attuned.

Foster Tranquility With a Mindful Screen-Free Hour

I keep away from screens during the first hour of my day, avoiding emails, social media, and TV. Instead, I focus on more mindful activities like reading, journaling, or spending some time outdoors in the morning sun.

This screen-free time fosters a sense of tranquility and heightened concentration. It sets a positive tone for the day, and when combined with meditation, it creates a harmonious and focused beginning that allows me to approach the day with clarity and purpose.

Add an Outdoor Morning Coffee Ritual

I remember reading Dr. Rangan Chatterjee’s book, The 4 Pillar Plan, when I was going through a tough time of personal tragedy a few years ago. He recommended having your morning coffee outside to help combat stress and start your day on a positive note.

Having your morning coffee outside apparently offers several advantages, including exposure to natural light that regulates your sleep-wake cycle and boosts mood, access to fresh air and vitamin D, stress reduction, and giving you a sense of connection to nature.

It struck me as such a simple ritual that I could easily incorporate into my morning routine that it really resonated with me. I instantly feel more grounded and content. It can also enhance creativity, promote mindfulness, and improve overall well-being.

Since making this “little tweak” of a lifestyle change, I have definitely found that I am more productive and in a better mood throughout the day compared to the days I don’t have time to do it.

Enjoy a Wholesome Breakfast and Physical Activity

Each morning, I kick-start my day with a wholesome breakfast, like a bowl of oats with fruits and nuts. This routine gives me the energy I need and helps me focus, creating a positive outlook for a productive day ahead.

After breakfast, I take a short walk or do some gentle stretches. This leaves me feeling even more refreshed and prepared for whatever comes my way!

Try Early Morning Downtime and Personal Activities

I wake up at 5:30 a.m. Immediately, I grab a coffee and sit on my couch with my husband. We have the news on, and you can find me falling back to sleep some mornings, while other mornings, I’m hard at work.

What I do for those couple of hours before my kids wake up doesn’t matter much. What does matter is the downtime with my spouse and the ability to do what I want to do before my day really starts.

Set Goals and Take an Uninterrupted Personal Hour

I jot down three primary tasks I aim to conquer that day, keeping my goals focused. Afterward, I hit a 30-minute workout, boosting my endorphins and energy. A balanced breakfast follows, fueling my body.

Last, I avoid checking emails immediately, giving myself an uninterrupted hour to dive into a passion project or read. This routine ensures I start with mental clarity, physical vigor, and a proactive, rather than reactive, approach to the day. It’s my daily investment in holistic well-being and productivity.

Make Time for Reflection, Planning, and Inspirational Reading

My morning routine is essential to setting a positive tone for my day. I start by waking up early to savor some quiet time for reflection and planning. This includes a brief meditation session and setting daily intentions, which helps me stay focused and motivated.

Prioritizing a healthy breakfast is a must to fuel my body and mind, ensuring I have the energy to tackle the day’s challenges effectively. Exercise is another vital component, whether a quick workout or a morning walk, to clear my thoughts and invigorate myself.

Next, I review my calendar and prioritize tasks for the day, ensuring a structured and productive schedule. Last, I always spend a few minutes reading or listening to something inspirational, which sets an optimistic mindset for the day ahead.
